Whale SOPR — Spent Output Profit Ratio SOPR shows whether the bitcoins moved today were on average spent at a profit or a loss compared to when they were originally received. Each spent output's value at the moment of spending divided by its value when first received. Whale-SOPR aggregates only large UTXOs (≥10 BTC). Computed daily from on-chain data. Values above 1.00: coins were on average spent in profit. Below 1.00: at a loss. The 0.99–1.01 band is treated as neutral. Sustained values above 1.05 historically appeared during distribution phases; below 0.95 during capitulation phases. HODL Waves — Whale UTXO Age Distribution HODL Waves show how long whale-held bitcoins have been sitting unmoved, broken down by age bands (1d, 1w, 1m, 3m, 6m, 1y+). Each unspent output (UTXO) on whale addresses is grouped by how many days have passed since it was last moved. Daily snapshot of the whale UTXO set. Growing older bands (1y+ expanding) means whales are increasing dormancy. Growing younger bands (1d, 1w) means whales are repositioning coins. Sustained shifts between bands historically preceded broader market regime changes. BTC Funding Rate & Open Interest Funding rate is the periodic payment between traders holding long and short positions on Bitcoin perpetual futures contracts (Binance). Open Interest is the total notional value of all open contracts. Funding rate is computed by Binance every 8 hours based on the spot-vs-perpetual price gap plus a fixed interest component. Open Interest is the sum of all open long+short contract sizes (in BTC). Positive funding (longs pay shorts): more leveraged demand on the long side (long-dominant). Negative funding: shorts dominate. Extreme positive values (>0.05%) historically preceded reversals. Open Interest spikes signal heavy leverage build-up; sudden drops indicate forced liquidations. Whales — Daily Whale Event Count The number of distinct whale-tier transactions detected on-chain today. A whale event is a single transaction that meets the size threshold. Counted from confirmed and mempool transactions where the total BTC moved is at least 100 BTC. Reset at midnight UTC. Typical days see 200–600 whale events. Days above 1,000 indicate elevated on-chain activity. Sub-100 days are unusually quiet — often weekends or low-volume periods. Volume — Total Whale Volume Today The cumulative USD value of all whale-tier transactions detected today, summed across confirmed and mempool flows. Each whale transaction's BTC amount × the BTC/USD price at the time of detection. Aggregated for all whale events of the current UTC day. Typical daily totals range from $1B to $30B. Values above $50B indicate heavy on-chain rotation. Sub-$1B days are unusually quiet (often weekends or post-volatility cooldown). The 7-day average is more meaningful than any single day. Mega — Whales Above 1,000 BTC The count of mega-whale transactions today — single transactions moving 1,000 BTC or more. Filtered from the whale event stream where total_btc ≥ 1,000. Includes both exchange flows and wallet-to-wallet movements. Most days have 5–25 mega-whale events. Days with 50+ are rare and historically coincided with major market moves. Zero days are unusually rare. Volume Index — Coverage Metric The average Volume Index across today's whale events. The Volume Index reflects historical exchange-flow magnitude per address (0–1.0). Higher = address has historically moved larger amounts to/from exchanges. Note: high Volume Index does NOT predict profitability — well-known whales are often already priced in by the market. Mean of volume_index_calibrated scores (0.0–1.0) across all whale-tier transactions today. The score is computed from each address's maximum historical exchange-flow size, normalised to a 0–1 range. Values around 0.5 indicate mixed pool of repeat-large-transactors and one-offs. Above 0.7 suggests today's activity is dominated by recurring large players. Below 0.3 suggests many new or low-volume addresses are active — sometimes a more interesting tradable signal. Fear & Greed — Current Market Sentiment The current Fear & Greed Index value — a 0–100 score aggregated by alternative.me from price volatility, momentum, social media, surveys, and BTC dominance. External composite index updated daily by alternative.me from public market data sources. We display the latest published value. 0–24: Extreme Fear (often historical local lows). 25–49: Fear. 50–74: Greed. 75–100: Extreme Greed (often historical local highs). Best read as a contrarian observation. BTC Price — Live Bitcoin Quote The current Bitcoin spot price in USD, updated continuously from CoinGecko's market aggregator. Volume-weighted average across major spot exchanges. Refreshed every 60 seconds in our backend, served live to the dashboard. The price tile is the reference value used by other USD-denominated metrics on this dashboard (Volume, Mega, etc.). 24h Average — BTC Price Mean Last 24h The arithmetic mean of BTC/USD price over the trailing 24 hours, with the day's high and low alongside. Average of all 1-minute BTC/USD price snapshots from the last 24 hours stored in our crypto_prices table. High/low are absolute extremes in that window. Useful as a quick volatility gauge: a wide high–low spread indicates a turbulent day; a narrow spread indicates consolidation. BTC/USD 24h — Price + Whale Event Overlay The Bitcoin price chart over the last 24 hours, overlaid with markers for each whale event detected in that window. BTC/USD prices fetched every minute from CoinGecko (crypto_prices table). Whale event markers are placed at the timestamp and price-level of each transaction; green = outflow from exchange, red = inflow to exchange. Clusters of red markers near a price drop suggest selling pressure correlated with whale exchange-inflows. Green clusters near a price rise suggest accumulation pulling coins off exchanges. Use as visual context, not as a trading rule. Exchange Flows — Inflows vs Outflows Daily totals of BTC moving INTO exchanges (inflows) and OUT of exchanges (outflows), based on classified whale transactions. Whale events where main_recipient is a labeled exchange address contribute to inflows. Whale events where main_sender is a labeled exchange address contribute to outflows. Internal exchange-to-exchange transfers are excluded. Self-sends (sweep transactions) are filtered out. Inflow-dominant days (more BTC arriving at exchanges) are historically associated with selling-pressure phases. Outflow-dominant days are historically associated with accumulation phases. The convention `net = inflow − outflow` is positive when inflow-dominant. Exchange Reserves — Cumulative Net Flows A running total of net exchange flow (outflow − inflow) over time. Approximates the trend of total BTC custodied on exchanges. For each day, daily net flow is computed and added to the running cumulative line. Starts at zero at the beginning of the selected window. The Per-Exchange toggle restricts to a specific named exchange (e.g. Binance) using cluster-traced addresses. Rising line = outflow-dominant trend (coins leaving exchanges). Falling line = inflow-dominant trend (coins arriving at exchanges). Magnitude relative to total exchange-held BTC matters more than absolute number — single days rarely move the trend. Miner Balances — Mining Pool Holdings The total BTC held across known mining-pool addresses over time. Tracks whether miners are spending block rewards or holding. Daily snapshot of UTXOs on 15+ tracked mining-pool addresses (Foundry, AntPool, F2Pool, ViaBTC, etc.). Sum of all unspent outputs at each address. Increasing balances indicate miners are retaining production rather than selling. Decreasing balances indicate miners are net-spending — usually to exchanges or buyers. Sustained drawdowns historically appeared during operational cost stress periods. Fear & Greed Index — Time Series The historical Fear & Greed Index from alternative.me as a time-series chart over the selected window. Each day's score is the composite from alternative.me's public API, persisted daily in our crypto_global_market table. Range 0 (Extreme Fear) to 100 (Extreme Greed). Sustained extreme readings (sub-15 or above 85) are rare and historically marked local price extremes. The 25–75 band is normal market sentiment. Best read alongside on-chain flow data — divergence between sentiment and flow is more informative than either alone. BTC and ETH Dominance — Crypto Market Share The market-cap share of BTC and ETH within the total crypto market. Each line is a separate share — the rest of the pie is altcoins and stablecoins. Daily snapshot of btc_dominance_pct and eth_dominance_pct from CoinGecko's global aggregator. BTC + ETH typically sum to 65–75 % of total crypto market cap. Rising BTC dominance with falling ETH dominance often coincides with risk-off rotations from altcoins to BTC. Falling BTC dominance is historically associated with altcoin-favorable phases. Watch for regime changes more than absolute levels. Community Sentiment — Confidence-Weighted Aggregated market sentiment scored from −1.0 (very negative) to +1.0 (very positive), combining seven independent sources. Each source (Telegram, Reddit, Bluesky, Farcaster, News headlines, Google Trends, Fear & Greed) is scored separately, then combined as a confidence-weighted average using mention volume and source reliability. The thick Overall line is the weighted aggregate; thin lines are per-source. Divergence between sources (e.g. social platforms positive while news is negative) often precedes volatility. Sustained extreme readings above +0.5 or below −0.5 are rare and have historically marked local turning points. Orderbook Depth — Bid/Ask Liquidity The amount of buy-side and sell-side liquidity sitting in Binance's BTC/USDT order book around the current price. Snapshots taken every minute via Binance's public depth API. Bid depth = total volume within ±1 % below current price. Ask depth = total volume within ±1 % above current price. Ratio = bid / ask. Ratio above 1.5 means bid-side dominates depth — more buy support is sitting on the book. Below 0.67 means ask-side dominates. Sudden depth drops on one side often precede sharp price moves as liquidity providers pull orders. Whale Activity — Volume & Transaction Count Two-axis chart showing daily whale transaction volume (in BTC) alongside the number of whale events per day. Counted from whale_trades table over the selected window. Volume = sum of total_btc per day. Count = distinct transactions per day. Filter: total_btc ≥ 100, self-sends excluded. Volume-spike days with low transaction count = a few very large mega-whales moving. High-count days with moderate volume = many smaller whales active. Both spike together = broad-based on-chain activity. Quiet days (low both) historically appear during low-volatility regimes. Flow Types — Transaction Categories Distribution of whale transactions by their on-chain classification: to-exchange, from-exchange, exchange-to-exchange, and wallet-to-wallet. Each whale trade is labeled by flow_type based on the entity-type of sender and recipient (using btc_entity_labels). Self-sends (change-output sweeps) are filtered. Counts aggregated over the selected window. A higher share of `to_exchange` events suggests selling-pressure tilt. Higher `from_exchange` share suggests accumulation tilt. `wallet_to_wallet` is OTC/private — neutral on its own. `exchange_to_exchange` reflects venue rotation, often by market makers. ETH Whale Activity — Volume & Count ETH equivalent of the BTC Whale Activity chart: daily ETH whale volume (in ETH) and event count. Aggregated from eth_whale_trades over the selected window. Filter: eth_amount ≥ 1,000 ETH (≈ tier-1 whale threshold for ETH). Reasoning: BTC ≥ 100 BTC ≈ ETH ≥ 1,000 ETH at typical price ratios. ETH whale activity has historically led BTC whale activity by 1–2 days during regime shifts. Diverging ETH and BTC activity can indicate ETH-specific narratives (e.g. staking, L2 unlocks, DeFi flows). ETH Exchange Flows — Inflows vs Outflows Daily ETH amounts moving into and out of labeled exchange addresses. Same convention as BTC flows. ETH transactions where to_entity_type or from_entity_type is `exchange` contribute to flows. Internal exchange-to-exchange transfers excluded. Min threshold: 100 ETH per transaction. ETH flows are noisier than BTC flows because of staking deposits/withdrawals, DEX routing, and DeFi mint/redeem patterns. A multi-day trend matters more than single-day moves. Sustained outflow-dominant trends often indicate staking or self-custody growth. ETH Exchange Reserves — Cumulative Net Flow Running total of ETH net exchange flow over time. Tracks the trend of ETH custodied on exchanges. Daily net flow (outflow − inflow) accumulated over the window. ETH-specific: includes staking-pool and CEX-staking address activity in the calculation. Falling line = inflow-dominant trend, ETH arriving at exchanges. Rising line = outflow-dominant trend, ETH leaving (often to staking or self-custody). Multi-month trends are more informative than weekly variation. ETH Staking Pools — Liquid & CEX Staking ETH locked across major staking providers: liquid-staking pools (Lido, Rocket Pool, Frax, etc.) and centralized-exchange staking products (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken). Daily snapshot of staked-ETH balances from on-chain validator queries and CEX staking-product disclosures. Sum across all tracked providers. Steady growth indicates ETH is being locked into yield positions — reduces liquid supply. Plateau or decline indicates unstaking pressure (validator exits take 3–5 days to hit exchanges, so a decline here often precedes exchange reserve rises). ETH Gas Fees & DEX Volume Average ETH network gas price (gwei) alongside total daily DEX trading volume (USD) on Ethereum mainnet. Gas: median gas price across all included blocks per day, sourced from public Ethereum-RPC samples. DEX volume: daily total USD volume on major Ethereum DEXes (Uniswap, Curve, Balancer, Sushi, etc.) via DefiLlama-equivalent feeds. High gas with high DEX volume = active retail/MEV trading periods. High gas with low volume = NFT/airdrop congestion or specific contract popularity. Falling gas + falling volume often signals broader risk-off behavior. Top Coins — 24h Price Change Overview A snapshot grid of the 16 tracked cryptocurrencies showing current price, 24h change percentage, and an inline price sparkline. Prices and changes pulled minute-by-minute from CoinGecko per coin. 24h change = (current − price 24h ago) / price 24h ago × 100. Sparkline = last 24h of 1-minute price points. Useful for spotting cross-asset correlation breaks: when most coins move together it signals macro/risk-on or risk-off; when one coin diverges sharply it signals coin-specific news. Stablecoins (USDT, USDC) should sit near 0% — large deviations indicate depeg events. My Tickers — Custom Alert Rules Personal alert configurations that fire when on-chain or market conditions match. Each ticker is a private rule tied to your account. Available rule types include price pump/dump (BTC % change in 1h), whale inflow/outflow (BTC threshold), Fear & Greed extremes, sentiment extremes, dormant-whale awakenings, and specific address-watch. Configured per user, evaluated continuously by the alert engine. Use tickers to surface what is relevant for you without watching the dashboard. Rules with cooldown periods and per-rule trigger counts; max 10 rules per Premium user. Live Whale Feed — Real-Time Whale Movements A live, continuously updating table of recent whale transactions, enriched with flow type, volume index, entity labels, and intent classification. Streams from whale_trades table, filtered to BTC ≥ 50 (Premium) or BTC ≥ 200 (Free, with 3h delay). Each row enriched at query time with entity-label lookups, intent classification, and confidence scores. The Flow column shows direction (📥 inflow, 📤 outflow, 🔄 e2e, 🔁 sweep, ↔ wallet-to-wallet).
