FAQ
Frequently asked
What counts as a BTC whale transaction?
Any on-chain transfer ≥100 BTC. Internal sweeps (self-sends, change-output back to the same wallet) are filtered out — we surface real cross-address flows. Mega-tier alerts fire at ≥1,000 BTC.
How are entities labelled?
Three tiers. Tier 1 = OFAC SDN list (highest authority, never overridden). Tier 2 = hot/cold wallet heuristics from exchange-cluster propagation. Tier 3 = manual curation + community-traced clusters. Confidence scores are exposed in the REST API.
How do I get the raw data?
REST API at /v1/recent, /v1/address/<addr>, /v1/tx/<txid>. Bearer authentication required. MCP server exposes the same data to Claude / Cursor / ChatGPT via 72 tools. Free tier: 50 lookups / day.
When does the page update?
Every hour at the top of the hour. Live whale-feed lags ~30 seconds behind the chain (block-confirmation + indexer batching). For real-time alerts subscribe to Telegram or Bluesky.
